Their culinary talents are reﬂected in their dishes which are all characterised by robust aromas, glowing colours, earthy ﬂavours and the evocative taste of exotic masalas.
The Raj Express has recently launched a events division which caters to all your event requirement including Halaal Catering, Business Platters and Live cooking. Raj Events can cater from 20 to 1000 guests.
The Raj Indian restaurant group has brought the taste of real Indian cuisine to Johannesburg diners, for over 19 years now. It all started when Dr Arun Jairath, a practicing ophthalmologist on return from his medical training in the UK, saw an opportunity to launch an authentic Indian restaurant in South Africa. In the UK he enjoyed some excellent Indian meals, but battled to ﬁnd something of a similar standard in South Africa. This inspired him to open his ﬁrst authentic Indian cuisine restaurant in Kyalami in 1996. It was such a success that the second restaurant, situated in Rivonia, soon followed.
These two outlets rapidly became ﬁrm favourites with local and international diners looking for authentic North Indian cuisine in Johannesburg and have since relocated and expanded in Gauteng, Cape Town and Sun City.
The demand for convenience and on the go meals is the reason the express stores were opened, up holing the same quality and food standards the restaurants are well known for.
